ONLY one Home Counties Premier League cricket match survived Saturday's unseasonal weather as Beaconsfield, Wycombe, Marlow and Amersham all had to settle for shared points after their matches were abandoned.

Beaconsfield had produced an impressive display against Division One runaway leaders Finchampstead before rain ended the contest.

Seamer Paul Woodroffe produced a deadly spell to surprise Finchampstead at Wilton Park, claiming five wickets for just 14 runs in six overs as Finchampstead slumped from 152 for two to 193 all put.

One of his victims was the visitors star Aussie Jon Moss, brilliantly stumped for 58 by keeper Danny Drepaul, who gained another stumping off Woodroffe as the innings went into free-fall.

Woodroffe, who eventually finished with five for 27, was given good support by seamer Paul Slade, who returned four for 44 from 14 overs.

Beaconsfield made a bright start to their reply but a run out plus three wickets for the deadly Moss left them struggling at 63 for five before a prolonged shower ended the contest.

Wycombe's game also went the same way.

They were just five overs into their reply to Slough's 217 all out, when the weather intervened.

Wycombe's Tim Scriven had bagged five of the Slough wickets for 79.

The London Road side reached 19 for one before their reply was halted.

In Division Two (West), where only Wokingham's clash with Bletchley survived the weather, Amersham and Marlow both had to settle for a share of the points after abandonments.

Marlow's Waqar Ahmed produced amazing bowling figures when he claimed five Burnham wickets for just six runs, although they still managed to reach a respectable 204 all out.

In reply, Marlow looked to be doing well, reaching 89 for one, when they were rudely interupted.

Amersham were disappointed that the weather stopped them in their tracks.

They had Wolverton on the back foot at 66 for six as they attempted to reply to Amersham's 157 all out.

Danny Bulman tore into the Wolverton reply, taking five for 40 before rain stopped play.
