HER Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, made a visit to Hambleden this week to open a new housing development.
The site, at Ridgewood, is part of the Rural Housing Trust programme to build affordable homes for local people in small English villages.
The Princess Royal unveiled a bench to commemorate the opening.
Nine-year-old resident Daisy Wilson presented the Princess with a posy of seasonal flowers before she was shown round the site.
Jane Jennings was presented to the Princess Royal as someone who had been instrumental in raising funds for this housing project.
She said: "She is a lovely lady and the day went very well. It had been raining all morning and Her Royal Highness had been delayed at Stoke Mandeville but by the time she arrived the weather cleared. It was a wonderful morning."
The Princess Royal ended her visit by meeting Hambleden parish councillors.
