RESIDENT Alan Wills says he has no confidence in the local council and its planning officers after a catalogue of problems.

Mr Wills, of Brookhouse Drive, Wooburn Green, says he has had so many bad experiences with Wycombe District Council planners that he thinks the county would benefit from being run by one council.

Mr Wills said: "I have no confidence in local government as presently constituted.

"I would support unitary authorities as the best hope for local accountability. Bucks County Council and Wycombe District Council will not both support this if one of them is going to lose its role.

"My only suggestion is to refuse to vote at all under the present system."

His strong comments come after a series of issues where he has had problems with the district council.

Mr Wills recently attended the appeal against the rejection of a new house in Grassy Lane, Bourne End, and said the planning officers were "woeful".

He added: "Fortunately the residents had a good case and good representatives and the inspector rejected the appeal.

"I have not had a lot of confidence in the so-called planners at the district council since I complained that primary branches of a copper beech tree had been removed, whereas the planning permission was for secondary branch removal.

"That of course renders the planning process pointless."

A spokesman for Wycombe District Council, said: "We are sorry to hear that Mr Wills has concerns about the planning service.

"If he would contact us, we would be happy to discuss the issues with him."
