KEVIN Freeman won the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Courage Trophy by nine shots from Gregg Blainey at Studley Wood Golf Club on Thursday.
The Stoke Park player set a blistering pace on his morning round with an eight under par 65 that broke the course record by five shots.
He then continued his form in the afternoon, reaching the turn in four under par to be 12 under and eagled the last hole to finish 14 under par.
It was tough on runner-up Blainey, from East Berkshire, whose rounds of 72 and 69 would normally have seen him challenging for the title.
Ben Smith (East Berkshire) also played well for his three under par as he won the championship for club champions from Beaconsfield's Peter Neal.
The Handicap prize went to Burford's John Townsley on countback from Darren Drew from the host club.
