RESIDENTS have stepped up their battle against crime and anti-social behaviour at a second community action meeting.
More than 70 people from Chesham's Pond Park turned up for the meeting to thrash out ways of making their estate a safer and more pleasant place to live.
Wednesday's meeting at Hiving's Park Free Church, Upper Belmont Road, was organised by the Thames Valley Partnership charity which works with deprived communities.
Russ Wootton, the charity's community safety director at the partnership, listed social problems and possible solutions as residents split into groups to discuss their concerns.
One idea was to encourage bored youths into sport to keep them out of trouble.
Chiltern district councillor Derek Lacey (Residents Association, Pond Park) said afterwards: "Again, this was fantastic, I didn't expect so many people.
He added: "This was very positive."
The meetings are being held monthly after more than 100 people turned up for the first one on June 8.
