A BAND of travellers have left a beauty spot after police told them their presence would not be tolerated.
About 30 vehicles poured on to privately owned land off the A413 Amersham bypass, Amersham Old Town, just after 9am on Tuesday.
Members of the public called police to say a convoy had arrived and travellers were attempting to gain access to a site just off the road.
The group left sometime overnight the same day, without any trouble.
The invasion came just days after travellers were petrol bombed at a nearby site by the Chilterns Crematorium on the A404.
Arsonists threw bombs at five caravans between June 25 and 28. No one was injured in the attacks and no property was damaged.
The travellers involved had been given permission by Buckinghamshire County Council to stay on the land after it was revealed one of them had a heart condition.
Police are still investigating the attacks which were condemned by the county council as "horrific".
Police believe the bombs were hurled from a red convertible during the last attack, on June 28.
