CHILDREN who nearly missed out on their annual treat due to the foot and mouth epidemic went on a residential sports course.
Forty-nine youngsters from Naphill and Walters Ash School went to Bisham Abbey last week where they received expert coaching in judo, weightlifting, hockey, tennis and ability sports.
The school does a lot of work to improve the sporting abilities of its pupils and has recently built a multi-use games area with public funding.
Marc Ackland, deputy head at the school, in Kilnwood, Walters Ash, High Wycombe, said: "The whole trip was put together in six weeks.
"The children had a fantastic time and they had a lot of new experiences and enjoyed the fact the course was residential.
"They learnt a lot of new things about sports that they would not normally know about."
