A MAN was threatened with a bottle moments after thieves forced their way into a building society and stole computers.

Police believe the two incidents which took place in and around the Bradford and Bingley Building Society in Burkes Parade, Beaconsfield, are connected.

The burglary took place between 6.50pm and 7pm on February 26 when the thieves forced entry into the rear of the premises stealing computer equipment from the office.

The second incident occurred at 7pm when a 56-year-old man returning to his car at the rear of Burkes Parade, Station Road, disturbed three or four men.

When he challenged the group, one of the men threatened him with a bottle before making off with his his accomplices and the man's briefcase.

The offenders were in their late 20s. Three were black and one was white.

They made their getaway in a dark coloured Vauxhall Vectra or Ford Mondeo in the direction of the Old Town.

Police believe the car may have been seen at Knaves Beech Industrial Estate, Loudwater, at 6.30pm the same day.
