A CONCERNED animal lover says a village thoroughfare has fallen foul of the foot-and-mouth crisis, by becoming caked in dog poo.
Pat Chantler, 52, from Watchet Lane, Little Kingshill, says dog walkers who usually use woodland and fields have been forced on to the pavements and high streets as public footpaths are closed off due to the outbreak.
Although she says people who usually use Browns Road, Holmer Green, are responsible enough to carry pooper-scoopers, people who have been forced onto the pavements are leaving their dogs' doings underfoot.
Mrs Chantler said: "Everybody with dogs is walking them through the villages. The footpaths are becoming increasingly more fouled. It would be nice if something could go in the paper to make sure people clear up the footpaths after their dogs.
