SEA cadets are riding on the crest of a wave after their unit was voted the most improved unit in the South East Region.
High Wycombe Sea Cadets, which has about 40 members and meets on London Road, High Wycombe, also won the Colditz award, an award for giving the best services to the local community, after the cadet band played on Remembrance Day, for Dunkirk veterans and played at Wycombe Show last year.
Petty officer Damien Hawkins said of the awards: "It is good. It was a bit of a surprise because we just feel like we are getting on and doing things. We seem to have got better at what we do."
