COMMERCIAL agent Aitchison Raffety has reported the sale of Lancaster House on the Cressex Business Park to EMS. The quoting price for the freehold had been £495,000.

The 3,670 sq ft office and workspace property was sold following division and refurbishment work, including a new front staircase and entrance.

Another part of Lancaster House had been separated to form a 2,700 sq ft unit which was sold to Intuitiv Ltd at the end of last year.

Aitchison Raffety manager Clive Brocklehurst said: "These are examples of the increased interest from occupiers in acquiring their own freeholds. It provides them with an asset not afforded by traditional leasing arrangements. And with long-term fixed finance and companies often wishing to invest profits, it can prove cheaper than renting."

The agent has also let Intuitive's old 1,050 sq ft premises at Kingsmill Park on the London Road to Chiltern Marketing Services.
