TODDLER Maxwell Brown will lead Wycombe Wanderers out for the most important match in their history when they take on Premiership Leicester City for a place in the FA Cup semi-final tomorrow.

The 15-month-old son of Blues' star Steve Brown has triumphed over serious illness to be Wycombe's mascot for the last-eight clash at Filbert Street.

Some 3,200 Wycombe fans lucky to get tickets will see him lead his father's team onto the pitch with another 3,000 expected to watch the drama unfold on a giant screen erected at Adams Park.

Proud dad Steve said: "Being in the quarter-finals is fantastic but having Maxwell on the pitch with me is the icing on the cake.

"It will inspire me because of everything he has been through."

Maxwell was born with a rare condition which meant his stomach was not connected to his throat. He has spent much of his young life in hospital and was recovering from a major six-hour operation when his dad was among the stars of the fifth round win over Wimbledon.

The 34-year-old devoted dad dedicated his goal against the Wombles to his son and has now gone one better by fixing it for him to be the mascot.

Steve said: "I might never get another chance to do something like this for him and I can't wait to see him come onto the pitch with us."

Wycombe will virtually close down tomorrow as football fever grips the town.

Those without tickets for the match will be at Adams Park to watch it live on a giant screen paid for by Ercol and The Book Shop owner John Rivett who dug deep into their pockets to provide the £15,000 beamback service.

ElevenSEVENTY radio will also be providing live commentary for fans.
