TALENTED young thespians' love of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet has culminated in their own '21st century' version called Rocco and JJ.

Ten to 12-year-olds have enjoyed an action-packed two weeks as part of the Bucks Young People's University drama summer school at Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College.

The young actors enjoyed a trip to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in London, learned about stage lighting and enjoyed workshops before writing the play themselves under the guidance of Lois Drawer, Film and Media Lecturer at the college.

Mrs Drawer said: "The children have been fantastic and have poured all of their energy into it. Together as a team they have been brilliant and I'm sure the play will be a great success."

Rocco and JJ will be on at Wellesbourne Campus, Kingshill Road, today at 1pm.
