IT was a case of love at first sight for Neil and Katrina Hodges who tied the knot two years after meeting at the National Society for Epilepsy (NSE).

The romantic couple married at the NSE, in Chesham Lane, Chalfont St Peter, on July 7.

They met during their daily routine at the site, and started going out together when Neil offered to take Katrina for a drink.

Neil, 37, said they were looking forward to spending their lives together in a bungalow at the NSE.

He said: "I saw her and said 'that is the one for me'. We were so nervous before the wedding, my legs were shaking. Katrina nearly forgot her words even though we had been practising.

"I whispered them and hoped she could hear them."

Katrina, 29, added that it was love at first sight and was delighted when he proposed to her on the site.

She said: "It was a lovely day. I really loved my dress and I wanted it straight away when I saw it as it was so plain and elegant. Both of our parents were very happy for us."

More than 80 guests, including NSE staff, gathered in the recreation hall on the 350-acre site to wish them well before they went off on honeymoon to Gran Canaria.

Neil added: "The honeymoon was fantastic, although it was very hot at 32 degrees most days. It was a bit of a culture shock coming back to work after a honeymoon in the sun, but we are really looking forward to settling in to our new home together."

Neil has been a resident at the NSE for 11 years, and Katrina has been a resident for six years.

They are now taking part in the society's Supported Living Project which enables them to maintain a more independent lifestyle with support from staff.

The Supported Living Project manager, Julie Crathorn, said: "It was a very special wedding. We are delighted for Neil and Katrina and wish them every happiness in their new life and new home together."
