I WOULD like to add my piece regarding the proposed railway throughout the county, as I am involved in the movement of goods UK and worldwide.
Are you aware that to put a vehicle or container on the railway from the Midlands to London costs at least £100 more than the road? Are the public going to be forced to pay this? It will certainly put the price of goods up.
The issue at stake is not pollution it is money.
I travel a lot in the UK and the ratio of cars to lorries is four times greater. If you are going to use the railways, make it for cars as well, with a piggyback system as per the Tunnel.
I agree that there is too much pollution, but this stems from overcrowding our British Isles.
We should be able to live in the peace, safety and luxury that we have worked for.
