DO the four Tory MPs for Bucks think our memories are so short that we have forgotten that a few weeks ago they were arguing for public expenditure cuts that would have decimated Wycombe's public services?
Now they are weeping for the NHS but there was not much evidence of that before. Only six weeks ago they were arguing for cuts of £16 billion to finance a reduction in income tax? No concern then for the problems of bed blocking.
Bed blocking is not a new problem. That's why the Government provided here in Bucks, an extra £500,000 to help deal with winter pressures and £700,000 to assist social services provide suitable accommodation for patients discharged from hospital.
We must continue to press the Government for more support. But I'll put my trust in those who have consistently argued for more NHS resources and not Tory MPs who have a different agenda.
The National Health Service was founded by a Labour government and as long as there is a Labour government the NHS will be safe.
