BOLLYWOOD came to High Wycombe when a group of performers sang top Hindi-film smash hit songs to raise cash for charity.

Vocalists Naheem Ali, Chayia and Saleem Noor, sang songs of the renowned late Pakistani singers Mohammed Rafi and Noor Jehan, whose magical voices would leave cinema audiences mesmerised.

The event on Saturday at Cressex School, Holmers Lane, Cressex, was held in aid of the victims of the Indian earthquake which hit in January.

A total of 250 guests helped raise about £2,000 for people in Pakistan who were affected by the natural disaster.

Naheem Ali said: "It was quite successful. I think around £2,000 was raised which is better than expected.

"Many thanks to Cressex School for giving us the hall free of charge.

"We raised money for Pakistan because part of the earthquake took place in Pakistan and not much was mentioned in the press about the Pakistan side. We are giving the money to the earthquake victims through the Eidhi Foundation who do a lot of charity work in Pakistan."
