CBF held onto the top spot in the Cressex Astroturf Six-A-Side League, but only just, as FC Beaconsfield moved within one point of toppling them last week.

Wycombe Town dropped a place to third after a disappointing evening which saw them gain only four points from their three matches after being held to a goalless draw by Hithercroft and losing out to table toppers CBF 1-0.

Their only win of the evening came during their final game which saw them take AFC Barnes 2-0 thanks to goals from Middleton and Auguste.

In other matches, newcomers Chalfont 87, who replaced Stokenchurch Utd who pulled out of this year's competition because of a player shortage, got off to a good start when Lepine, Lomas and Ellis put three away to beat WWISC 3-0.

Their next game, against fifth place Wycombe Hermits, was a lot tougher but Chalfont held their own to get a point from the goalless draw.

Chalfont's first defeat came at the hands of Tring West End who went one up in the dying minutes of the first half through Schole. Tring doubled their advantage in the second half when Wizzard made it 2-0.

Despite a dramatic 5-0 defeat at the hands of MCS, Velo Royals kept their cool and went on to win their remaining two games.

The first was a 3-1 win over Days Gone By. Robinson hit two and Petrie the other to see Velo claim the points.

They followed that up with a 1-0 win over Daniel Williams thanks to a Burrow long-range strike.

FC Artois had a night of mixed fortunes. They went down 3-1 to Ariston Athletic before turning the tables on Daniel Williams by beating them 3-1 with goals from Schurer, Emson and O'Sullivan.

AFC Barnes continue to make good progress. Despite losing two of their three games, they are still just outside the top eight qualifying positions.

They notched a surprise 1-0 victory over Wycombe Hermits thanks to Saulsbury's goal, but they came a cropper in their remaining games, going down to Tring West End (1-0) and Wycombe Town (2-0).

Thrifty Car Rental's downward spiral continued. They lost out 4-2 to Italia Unita, who took the lead after just five minutes.

Thrifty followed that up with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Marlow Tornadoes with Collett getting their goal.

Toys-R-Us stayed mid-table after taking three points from their two matches. They started with a 2-1 win over fourth-from-bottom Tornado FC. Goals from Musters and Goodall saw Toys come from behind to take the points.

But they went down 3-0 in their second match against the Dreem Team.

WWISC took a tumble, suffering a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Chalfont 87 before suffering a repeat performance by Ariston Athletic to leave them sitting 22nd in the league.
