LONG service awards were scooped by four Chiltern Vale police officers at a special Thames Valley Police ceremony.

Chief Constable Bill Pollard presented the officers with the awards at the Force training centre in Sulhamstead, Berks, on Tuesday.

Insp Dave Evans of High Wycombe, Hazlemere based youth and schools officer PC Paul Sorensen, High Wycombe area officer Dave O'Connell and recently retired area officer Ian Holmes, were delighted to be recognised for their time in the force.

PC Paul Sorensen, who has been in his current position since March, will proudly place his award alongside his Shrievalty Merit Award, which he received earlier in his career from the High Sheriff for his outstanding work while beat officer for Holmer Green.

Area officer Ian Holmes, who recently retired from the Specials, was recognised for his 19 years dedicated service.

He began his career with the Specials in High Wycombe and spent several years as section officer in Marlow before returning to High Wycombe and later retiring to Devon.

Area officer Dave O'Connell, who is also involved in recruitment of Specials and cadets, was the second to receive a Special Constable Award.

Insp Dave Evans recently joined as shift inspector at High Wycombe from headquarters.
