BROWNIES have been hard at work for the past month making colourful blankets and quilts for sick children in hospital.
The Chesham Guides, who meet at the Guide Hut, Lowndes Park, Chesham, and Christ Church, Waterside, are set to donate three quilts to Wycombe Hospital next week.
The blankets have been made as colourful as possible using fabric paints and various materials.
The 45-strong group split in to nine teams to complete the task and each Brownie has included a small booklet detailing facts about themselves and their Guide group.
Francis Tuffney, a Chesham Guider, said: "The girls have all enjoyed doing something for these children. The idea is meant to give something to children who are going to be in hospital for two or three weeks. They get the quilts when they go in to hospital and get to keep them when they go back home."
The scheme is being run by charity group Project Linus UK which works in Beds, Bucks and Herts.
The American-imported project seeks to give sick children their own blanket to help them get through their illness.
