SAINSBURY'S has opened a new store in Thame with petrol giant Shell, as part of a fuel and convenience store offer.

The site, in Park Street, was opened today at 9.30am and is one of only six in the country that combines Shell and Sainsbury's.

The development, which has created 35 jobs in the area, includes a forecourt and a sales area, have 2,000 products on offer, 11 car parking spaces and an ATM so customers can withdraw cash.

Ian Sutcliffe, Shell's UK retail operations director, said: "We believe that we will be able to provide an unrivalled customer offer in the convenience sector."

Mark Rollmann, Sainsbury's Local senior manager, said: "This site has been a great opportunity for us to work together to develop an offer which combines the successful Sainsbury's Local format and Shell's highly respected branded fuel offer."
