RESIDENTS who say they are plagued by the early morning noise created by a busy pub have written to ask the council to call time on the problem.

Six home owners in Queens Road, High Wycombe, say they have had too much noise from people leaving The Pride, London Road, in the early hours.

One home owner, who did not wish to be named, said: "The Pride has recently been getting very, very loud.

"The people that live behind there have been getting very upset about it. At two or three in the morning they have music pounding."

The home owner claimed that the publican had been 'very abusive and said it was our own fault for living near to a nightclub."

They added: "There was no problem with the previous pubs. There are young kids and elderly people in these homes and we just don't seem to be getting any help from anybody.

Chris Kelly, manager of The Pride, said: "The only resident I spoke to went away and said thanks very much because I said I wouldn't play any music until it has been properly sound-proofed.

"I am prepared to organise a meeting to speak with them all."

A Wycombe District Council spokesman said: "Environmental health officers at the council have contacted the licensee of The Pride requesting a meeting next week to discuss complaints that the council has received concerning alleged noise nuisance."
