I AM writing to say how appalled I was to read on the front of last week's Free Press, about the provision of TVs and telephones to every bed in Wycombe Hospital.
Did I read this correctly? Is it really part of the new NHS plan by the Government.
I was in Wycombe Hospital last autumn for a hip replacement. The care given me by staff was excellent but the food was dreadful and all other patients felt the same.
My husband was admitted to Ward 2A from Casualty a few weeks ago for a few days. The care in Casualty, and then the ward was excellent. The only complaint again was the food.
Surely this is where more money needs to be spent, if the Government want to help patients' recovery. Patients can already hire a bedside TV if wanted, and there is a phone trolley for patients' use.
Who is the Government trying to impress? They need to get their priorities right in any new plans for the NHS.
I'm also writing to 10 Downing Street to air my views.
