REVELLERS raised £4,500 for charity by donning fancy dress and partying at the High Wycombe and District Annual Charity Ball.

Held last Friday at Wycombe Town Hall, the ball was a success although organisers warn it could be the last if more people don't volunteer to go on the committee.

Chairman Ceri Syner said: "We raised more than £4,500 this year which is very good considering the numbers are down."

Ian McCaskill was one of 130 revellers at the evening, paying £50 for a ticket which included a three-course meal and drinks.

They were entertained during the evening by eight-piece band Shindig and a Chinese violinist Hui-Qin Jiang, who is studying at the Royal Academy of Music.

The Charity Ball Committee will meet soon to decide which eight charities from the Wycombe area will benefit from the money.

To volunteer for the committee, send details to Kelly Clayton, The Star, Gomm Road, High Wycombe, Bucks HP13 7DW.
