THE Scout Group is in danger of losing its paper banks. Not enough people are putting old newspapers and magazines into the blue bins outside the Scout Hut in Parish Piece. Please would you support our Scout Group which consists of over 70 boys and girls.

SATURDAY morning, June 9, a new Cycling Club starts at Holmer Green Upper School in Parish Piece, at 10am until noon. Cost £5 joining fee and £1 a week afterwards. Just bring your bike, helmet, and refreshments. For more details contact Lynne Bates on (01494) 712219.

SATURDAY afternoon, June 9, 2pm to 4pm, is our local old people's home Cherry Garth's fete. Come and see our many stalls and enjoy a cream tea. The profits go to ensure the residents have extra comforts. The fete is organised by the League of Friends, who are always looking out for people to give an hour or two, once a month, to help with their activities. If you feel you can help, come in to the centre and volunteer: you would be most welcome.

Cherry Garth residential home is looking for more carers, domestic staff and a part-time cook. If you would like to work locally in a friendly environment, please contact the home on (01494) 712689 for an application form.

THE Methodist Church have now got their own web site for us to hear the Good News. The site is reached on www.gnews.co.uk

MONDAY afternoon, at 1.30pm, is young mothers'/fathers' chance for your young children to mix and play in a friendly place at the Church Centre. Refreshments provided.

THURSDAY at Christ Church, the Tiny Tots Services are at 10.30am, 1.45pm and 3.30pm. These are action-packed half-hour services to introduce pre-school children to Christ. All very welcome.

LINK-UP at Christ Church on Friday at 10.30am is a group which gives support to the lonely and bereaved. A warm welcome is assured.

SUNDAY, June 17, is the day for the Open Air Service on the village common at 11am. All welcome. This year it is being led by the Anglican church, although all churches are invited.
