HIGH Wycombe's colourful market, which has been serving residents since the 13th century, looks set to continue for at least four more years.
Wycombe District Council is in discussions with traders over a new contract and traders are delighted at the news.
Roy Bagley, spokesman for the Market Traders Association Co-op has overseen the lively market for the past 20 years.
He said: "We are delighted that the council is backing us. We pride ourselves on our dedication to improving the town as a whole."
Mr Bagley, who has traded at the market for more than 40 years, said he hoped to increase the lines and encourage more visitors from outside. "We are as good as any supermarket and I think the atmosphere makes for a real day out as well," he said.
