SINGER Val Doonican failed to hit the high notes after his voice gave out.
Mr Doonican, who lives in Beaconsfield, attended a fundraising evening last Friday at the Bellhouse Hotel, Beaconsfield, organised by Woodrow House, in Amersham, to raise money for young people.
He was set to do a cabaret when a virus made him lose his voice, so his backing band had to play on stage without him.
