ANGRY residents say lorries getting off at the wrong motorway junction are ruining their road and grass verges.

Households along Meare Estate, in Wooburn Green, have even taken to photographing the lorries inches away from their garden walls and parking on the opposite side of the road to stop the juggernauts.

Resident Hilda Krajewski said: "They practically come up on people's drives. My neighbour parks on this side of the road to stop the lorries and it was funny the other day when everybody came out of their house and starting taking pictures of this lorry turning."

Residents believe there would be less problems if the signs on the M40, saying High Wycombe East, were better.

She added that at every turn with the authorities nobody was interested in the residents' concerns and the Free Press was the last hope to raise awareness.

Residents have sent photographs of the damage and lorries turning in the road to the Highways Agency but have not heard anything.

A spokesman for the Highways Agency said he could not confirm whether they would consider siting a sign with a clearer explanation but added: "It is very unusual for any signs not to do with the motorways or highways and selected tourist attractions to be placed on the motorways."
