YOUNG people in Haddenham will be heard thanks to a new Youth Council being set up by Aylesbury Vale District Council.
Recent discussions between youth and community workers in Haddenham, Wendover and Aylesbury prompted the district and county councils to organise the council which will identify youth issues in the district.
Three Youth Workers will join eight young people representing schools in the area at weekly meetings beginning in the summer.
They will use the meetings to develop a recruitment and training plan and will produce a business plan for projects needed to address youth issues.
Councillor Morgan-Owen, chairman of the community development committee is keen to involve more young people in the running of local Government.
Cllr Morgan Owen said: "Young people need to get their voices heard and have a say about the issues that affect them." she said.
Aylesbury Vale District Council is giving £27,360 to support the project.
