MANAGING directors of companies in High Wycombe and Amersham are among 22 businessmen who recently added their names to the 'no' campaign against the euro.

Mike Clare, managing director of Dreams Ltd, in High Wycombe, and Colin Howard, managing director of The Datacomms Warehouse, in Amersham, have joined the southern regional council of Business for Sterling which recently launched an offensive against locking the UK into the single currency.

Mr Clare and Mr Howard were among the signatories to an open letter confirming their commitment to the Single Market, but who believe the best way to help the British economy would be to rule out membership of the euro for at least the next five years.

The letter states: "People in the south east have worked hard to build a modern and competitive economy.

"Giving up control of our economy by locking into the euro would be the quickest way to boom and bust."
