HAVING travelled further than anyone else to take part in the competition, Wokingham Town under 11's secured their third tournament triumph in four weeks when they won the Bourne End Junior Sports Club's Sportsfest.

The in-form side beat Marlow in the final after going through the group stages undefeated.

They went goal crazy as they won their group putting five without reply past both Holtspur and Hughenden and hammering Totteridge 11-0. They also beat Strides 1-0 and drew 1-1 with hosts Bourne End to set up a semi-final against Downley Albion.

But they found Downley's keeper in inspired form. He made great saves to deny Nick Bateman, Josh Warren and Jake Hyde and cause Wokingham's flood of goals to dry up.

They eventually made the breakthrough when Hyde scored the only goal of the game after good work from Bateman and Joe Duffelen.

Wokingham faced a strong Marlow side in the final and overcame their challenge to claim the silverware with a 2-0 win.

But they had to wait until the second half to make their superiority count as Sean Watson was twice foiled by the goalkeeper in the first period.

But they remained patient and took the lead when Adam van den Dungen won the ball in his own half and then surged forward playing a neat one-two with Hyde before slipping the ball past the keeper.

With Marlow pushing forward Town settled the game when Hyde latched onto a through ball to finish powerfully from outside the area.
