HISTORIC documents are being hauled out of the archives as plans to mark the Centenary of Wycombe High School get underway.

Teachers, pupils and parents, past and present, are being invited along for the event on July 7 where they can view a whole host of displays dating back to September 24, 1901, when the school first opened its doors to young High Wycombe ladies.

Among the exciting memorabilia will be original school logs and records of the first pupils and records of World War Two.

"We will also have pictures of the opening of the buildings on the current site in the 1950s as well as videos and photographs of school productions from more recent years," said school spokesman Rachel Sutcliffe.

Organisers are anxious to track down any of the school's original pupils or their families.

Ex-pupils of the old Lady Verney High School, which joined with Wycombe High School in recent times, are also urged to come along and take advantage of the opportunity to learn about their old school.

"It will be a wonderful time to meet old friends and view the huge amount of material we have on display" added Ms Sutcliffe.
