A PREVIEW of oil paintings by the well-known artist Leslie Dyer will be exhibited at an exclusive Gerrards Cross location.

The Chiswick artist, who died in 1983 aged 75, exhibited paintings all over the world, including Cairo's British Institute, London's Wardour Street Gallery and the Raymond Duncan Gallery in Paris, during his fruitful career.

His widow, Carolyn Dyer, will also be at the exhibition to answer any questions about her husband's work.

Diane Peters, spokesman for exhibition organisers Artisan, was delighted with the chance to show pictures by such a respected artist.

"He was an incredibly talented man and it will be wonderful to be part of an exhibition celebrating his life's work," she said.

"We have had interest from the London Tate Gallery and already we have a lot of people from around the area who wish to view the paintings.

"At the beginning of his career his style was compared to the likes of Picasso although he went on to develop his own very distinct style," she added.

The exhibition will be at the Brox Hair Salon in Packhorse Road, Gerrards Cross, on Sunday June 3, between 10am and 4pm.
