FILM and television star Geoffrey Palmer signed copies of a poetry book in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home in Beaconsfield last week.
Mr Palmer, who starred in the television comedy As Time Goes By as well as numerous films, including the critically acclaimed Mrs Brown, is a regular fundraiser for the hospice and was in WH Smith last Saturday to sign copies of Rhyme and Reason, a poetry book put together by local contributors.
Alan Halstead, sales and publicity officer for the book, said: "The day went very well and we managed to sell 134 copies of our book which was well above target.
Mr Palmer is a great friend of the hospice and has done a lot of things for the charity."
Mr Halstead added that he wanted to pay tribute to Jan Neil, who has stood down from her position as editor of Rhyme and Reason after five years in the hot-seat.
Copies of the book are priced at £4. For more information call Alan Halstead on (01494) 671565.
