AS there has been quite a lot of letters recently re 'homes for cats', I have a different story!!
In the past 30 years I have adopted cats from the RSPCA, Cats Protection League and Blue Cross at Chalfont and I have never had a home check from any of them.
Luckily I am a very responsible owner. At the moment I have a 14-year-old (Cats Protection League) and an eight-year-old (RSPCA).
Apart from a donation to the charity concerned, I never heard from any of them again.
However, I am greatly in favour of home checks. Maybe they are stricter nowadays.
