HOMEOWNERS in a valley which has been flooded out for months say they have still not been told when the situation will be cleared up.

Residents in Valley Road, Warrendene Road and Boss Lane in Hughenden Valley have faced flooding problems for months. The water tables have dropped but three homes are still under water and will not be habitable for six months, said Hughenden Parish Council clerk Lynne Turner.

She said: "I don't think it is sorted at all. Boss Lane apparently is still under water. It is ridiculous that the households still can't put floorboards back because they are still watching the water underneath.

"There is no word on what action is being taken to remedy the situation so it doesn't happen again."

Thames Water spokesman Andrew Boyd said: "We are sorry if people feel they have not been kept informed. There have been a lot of similar cases across the region and we don't want to do blanket letter drops. It is hard to know how to keep people informed.

"We have been doing investigative works into the water entering the sewer system to pinpoint where it is coming in so we can stop it from doing so."
