MARLOW Football Club got their fifth draw in their last six matches when they were held 1-1 at home by bottom-of-the-table Leighton Town on Saturday.

The second division's draw specialists came from behind to take their point and had to survive without goalkeeper Lee Carrol at the end after he was sent off.

Marlow sprang a suprise before the game when key men Nicky Ryder and James Pritchard were left on the substitutes bench.

But they were both brought on in the second half as Marlow found themselves trailing to a Leighton goal on the stroke of half time after Grant Goodall had conceded a free kick on the edge of the box.

Leighton then had an excellent chance to double their advantage five minutes after the break but the visitors flashed a free header wide of the target.

Marlow almost levelled when Robert Gibson's header from a cross from substitute Ryder was turned around the post.

But they did get back on level terms in the 72nd minute and again Ryder was the provider.

His cross was headed back across the box by Robert Gibson and Sam Shepard finished off the move.

But there was more drama to come as Marlow keeper Lee Carroll saw red following a clash with a Leighton striker who was also ordered to take an early bath.
