WYCOMBE Rye's B team were crowned champions of the Cressex Summer Hockey League after a 2-0 final win over Henley on Saturday.
Goals from Laura Lippiat and Sue Samways sealed it for Rye, who had seen off Chalfont and Amersham 2-0 in the semi-final to set up a final clash with Henley.
The two goals were enough to see Rye, who had won their section of the league, clinch their first Cressex title.
It wasn't such a good day for other section winners Wycombe Rye Development who lost out on penalty strokes to Henley in their semi-final.
The clash finished 1-1 but Henley held their nerve to come through the penalties 3-1 with successful conversions from Jo Simpson, Serena Hickman and Joyce Green.
And things didn't get any better for Rye in the third and fourth place play-off as they were beaten 2-1 by Chalfont and Amersham, with Sarah Walsh on target for Chalfont.
Cal Tomlinson (Chalfont/Amersham) and Serena Hickman (Henley) picked up trophies as their section's highest scorer.
