ORANGE may soon be allowed to erect a 25ft mast in a residential area of outstanding natural beauty.

The application was rejected by Wycombe District Council in October on the grounds that it was an inappropriate location, but Orange appealed to the Government to overturn the decision.

It will be the third time Orange has tried to set up a mast in Marlow Bottom.

Residents at the junction of Ragmans Lane and Marlow Bottom have reacted angrily and vowed to fight the company.

Jocelyn Finch, who has three children, lives opposite the proposed site.

She said: "We are not very pleased to say the least. It is totally out of place here. Also there are a lot of children in this area and we are very worried about the health risk."

She added: "I use one2one and my signal is fine down here."

Daphne Ratcliffe said she was disgusted the company was coming back for more and added: "We don't want it here."

Residents have until April 2 to register opposition with the Planning Inspectorate. No one from Orange was available for comment but they have previously denied any proven link between masts and health risks.
