I AM a doctor in a London hospital and my elderly parents live in South Bucks.
The standard of health care in this district has become a real concern.
My parents inform me that according to Bucks Free Press reports, the A&E department has been closed many times in the last 18 months or so.
Also that people with cancer are kept waiting and that the trust is seriously overspent to the tune of millions of pounds.
Although the hospital in which I work has similar problems to Bucks, in that housing for staff is very expensive, we have never seen our emergency department closed nor are cancer patients kept waiting.
We have all read about the extra money that Wycombe Hospital has been given and it seems to me that it is easy to blame the cost of housing and lack of money.
Surely the managers must be partly to blame as it seems there is a lack of ability to manage extra resources.
I am relieved that I am in a position to get my parents good medical care when the need arises.
Other people are not so lucky.
I think that it is time that someone examined the calibre of the managers at the South Bucks Trust.
