MARLOW Football Club enjoyed the greater possession in their second division clash with lowly Leyton Pennant at Oak Tree Road, but still only came away with a share of the points last Saturday.

In fact it was Leyton who went ahead after just 17 minutes when Jamie Reilly surprised Lee Carroll in the Marlow goal.

Reilly drove past Carroll after shoddy Marlow defending gifted him the ball on the edge of the area.

The Blues got themselves back in it when James Pritchard finished off a good move just after the half-hour and his strike went in off the far post.

And the Marlow man deserved it after making some imaginative plays that came close to catching Leyton out on several occasions.

Marlow could have gone 2-1 up moments later when Robert Gibson's diving header, from Jason Travis' cross, had to be instinctively pushed away by Dave Curtis in the Leyton goal.

In the dying moments Marlow could have snatched it, but Pritchard had a penalty appeal turned down and Jim Bradley saw his point-blank strike cleared off the line by a Leyton defender.
