LEFT-WINGERS who don't like New Labour, have set up the South Bucks Socialist Alliance, following a meeting in High Wycombe.

Nationally the alliance plans to fight 75 seats in England, including Oxford East and Watford at the general election. But they won't be fighting any seats closer to home.

Simon Cope, of West Wycombe, a member of the Socialist Workers Party, which is part of the Alliance, said the organisation included people who described themselves as Old Labour, plus a number of left wing organisations.

Mr Cope said: "We are based round working through the democratic process. We are not a revolutionary organisation."

He said the members of the South Bucks Socialist Alliance would campaign locally on issues, such as re-nationalising the railways and ending selective education. They will be holding another meeting on March 29, to arrange campaigning for the general election.LEFT-WINGERS who don't like New Labour have set up the South Bucks Socialist Alliance, following a meeting in High Wycombe.
