CHESHAM United are counting the cost of the late postponement of Tuesday's clash against Aldershot.

They were heading for their biggest gate of the season when the referee called if off just 30 minutes before kick-off because of a frozen pitch.

United were expecting a crowd of more than 1,000 and hundreds of angry Shots fans had to be turned away from The Meadow.

United were also disappointed with the decision.

They were on a high following Saturday's 2-0 win at Grays while the Shots were reeling from a 5-1 thumping by Stevenage in the FA Trophy.

That win at Grays moved Bob Dowie's men up to sixth in the Premier Division.
