POLICE are investigating an alleged incident at a Conservative club bar involving Wycombe's youngest district councillor, Sarah Marshall.
The Free Press understands that Miss Marshall, 24, Conservative councillor for Stokenchurch elected in May 1999, has been banned from Aylesbury Conservative Club after allegedly throwing a glass of Coke at a steward. The incident is alleged to have taken place on March 31 and was reported to the police. No action has been taken against Miss Marshall.
Barry Priestley, from Longwick, is chairman of Aylesbury constituency branch of the Conservative Party, which leases the club house to the club, a separate organisation.
He said something happened and allegations were made to police.
But he said: "At the moment she is perfectly innocent. Her character has been besmirched."
Conservative agent at Aylesbury, Richard Small, said he had had many messages of support for Miss Marshall.
Aylesbury police said: "We are investigating the allegations. It happened on the 31 st March. Inquiries are going on at this time."
Miss Marshall said in a statement that the matter is in the hands of solicitors.
