A BOBBY who had become a familiar sight treading his beat has hung up his boots for the last time.
PC Terry Campbell, 54, from Hazlemere, has been a police officer for 15 years and has spent the last six-and-a-half years patrolling the Hazlemere area.
He worked as a Wycombe community officer and on the crime desk in High Wycombe before he became a permanent fixture in Hazlemere.
Married PC Campbell, who has two children and two grandchildren, said: "I joined the job in order to hopefully help the community. I just hope I have given 100 per cent and done a good job for the Hazlemere area and all the other areas I have policed. It is going to be a loss to our area not only does he know the area but he knows the villains."
PC Campbell's replacement, PC Liz Wheeler, 32, from High Wycombe, who has been an officer for nine years and previously worked as a youth and schools liaison officer in the Amersham area, said: "I think PC Campbell is going to be a very hard act to follow."
