MARATHON man Adrian Cunningham's dreams of the big London race hang in the balance and he is appealing for Star readers to help.

Adrian, who works in the advertising department at the South Bucks Star, pledged in november last year to test his stamina running through the streets of London and promised to report back to us on the highs and lows of the strenuous training.

His quest to help the Micro and Anophthalmic Childrens Society (MACS), which is a charity to support the families of the blind and partially sighted, has hit a snag because he is a long way off raising the required amount to take part.

He said: "Of the £750 I have to raise, I'm far off. The way I'm going now I don't think I will be able to run the race.

"I'm still training and everything, but I just don't know."

At the moment Adrian only has £150 and he desperately needs companies or individuals to help and is happy to wear any promotional accessories during the 26-mile marathon in April.

The advertising representative has completed the full marathon distance five times just training around the area surrounding his home in Cairns Side, High Wycombe.

"I could have run for other big charities," explained Adrian. "But it was this one that tugged at my heart strings."

Adrian needs another £600 by March 22 at the latest. If you would like to help, contact him on 0870 600 6227 or (01494) 755033
