PENSIONER Mick Gurney remembered to take his Star and jet-ski in New Zealand despite being 85-years-old.
Mick, of Clifford Road, Princes Risborough, is a regular at the Star with his letters and poems and now he is featuring in Don't Forget Your Star.
The dare-devil pensioner, who also enjoys ballroom dancing, visited his daughter, who lives in New Zealand, last month where he went to see all the sights.
Mick is seen here with his trusty Star at Cape Reinga, the most northerly point of New Zealand.
He said: "The signpost for London had got twisted round and is not pointing in the right direction, but it is 10,499 nautical miles to London. There was nothing but ocean for miles and miles.
"It is supposed to be a very spiritual place. According to them it is where the spirits of the dead go to depart this world."
The keen poet is now back at his home in Princes Risborough and is enjoying going to dances in High Wycombe and writing more poems for radio stations and The Star.
