PRESENTATIONS were made by youth workers as part of the 21st birthday celebrations of High Wycombe's Youth Enquiry Service.
Mayor of High Wycombe Nigel Vickery and chairman of Wycombe District Council Bill Jennings were among those gathered at Bassetsbury Manor for the event on Friday.
Volunteer Lorraine Leeper, who has worked as a Sexual Health Service volunteer at the Frogmoor-based centre for the last three years, was among the professionals who spoke of their youth work which has gone 'from strength to strength' since it opened in 1997.
She stressed the importance of the scheme for its advice to youngsters about safe sex, contraception and pregnancy and pointed to figures released in March showing that inquiries have doubled over the last 12 months.
Martin Skinner, co-ordinator of the service, congratulated all workers on their remarkable work and commitment.
Volunteers, who are offered in-house training courses as part of their work, are being sought.
