HORRIFIED clubbers looked on helplessly as masked robbers raided a bar, leaving a member of staff in hospital.

The incident happened at Bar Med, Maxwell Road, Beaconsfield, at 10.30pm on Monday when two men entered the bar.

One of the men implied he had a gun and the staff member was hit on the head and back before the offenders fled with an undisclosed sum of cash.

They are thought to have escaped in a red Vauxhall Astra.

The staff member was taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.

Both men wore white masks. One is described as 5ft 8ins tall, and was wearing a dark coloured fleece, faded blue denim jeans and white trainers.

The other was 6ft tall, medium build, and was wearing dark coloured trousers and shoes.

A Bar Med spokesman said: "A robbery took place on Monday night and one of our staff was injured but they are now safe and well and recovering at home."
