TEENAGE TV presenter Imran Hussain is gearing up for this year's Asian Mela after having an amazing year presenting his own show while doing his GCSE exams.

The 16-year-old has been a regular over the past eight months on the ARY Digital TV channel presenting his own programme called Teen World which highlights the achievements of young people across the UK.

The rising young star had been recording the series after school in studios in London and has completed 12 programmes.

But the Cressex School student has not let it affect his education which he insists is paramount if he is to make a career in TV presenting.

Imran, who lives in High Wycombe, said: "I've been doing the TV work after school and it hasn't really affected my studies.

"I want to learn more about the media but at the moment it's still a hobby."

The teenager was hired by ARY Digital, which is a subscription channel for the Pakistani community, after TV bosses saw a tape of him speaking at a delegation in Kashmir.

He has since presented Teen World for the channel, as well as covering big Asian Melas across the country in Manchester, Huddersfield and Birmingham.

But he is now ready to do some presenting a bit closer to home for the Asian Mela in High Wycombe which will have the usual blend of Asian culture and cuisine.
